Former police officer and Prince William County Supervisor, Yesli Vega (R-VA), has won the Republican primary election for Congress in Virginia’s 7th District, setting up an ideological clash with the liberal incumbent, Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA), in November.

Yesli Vega won a come-from-behind victory because of the grassroots support she received from conservatives in Virginia and across the nation. This was a race where the supporters of the House Freedom Fund made the difference between winning and losing.
