Trump Makes Case for Border Wall

House Freedom Fund — Wednesday, February 6, 2019

President Donald Trump made a compelling case for the border security wall in his State of the Union address last night.

“No issue better illustrates the divide between America’s working class and America’s political class than illegal immigration,” he said. “Wealthy politicians and donors push for open borders while living their lives behind walls and gates and guards.”

He’s right! That’s why over 500,000 Americans have now signed the national BorderWallNow.com petition urging Congress to join President Trump in defending our southern border.

The president had a message last night for the Democrats who say the border wall is immoral, and it was a powerful one.

“This is a moral issue. The lawless state of our southern border is a threat to the safety, security, and financial well‑being of all Americans. We have a moral duty to create an immigration system that protects the lives and jobs of our citizens. This includes our obligation to the millions of immigrants living here today, who followed the rules and respected our laws. Legal immigrants enrich our Nation and strengthen our society in countless ways. I want people to come into our country, but they have to come in legally.”

Congress has only 9 days left to pass a bill that will fund our Government and make a meaningful impact on the security and humanitarian crisis on our southern border.

We are working to get Americans to contact their representatives to put maximum pressure on them to act before the deadline. These efforts cost money and we need your help to win this fight.

Please make an urgent contribution today.

Now is the time for Democrats to set aside their opposition to the president and now is the time for Republicans to truly fight for something they have promised voters year after year. We can win this if we work together to make our voices heard.

Thank you for being part of our team and for doing so much to help advance the principles of freedom that make America great.
